Our greatest need is to be forgiven by God.

We offend Almighty God on a daily basis. He is the dreadful God, a Consuming Fire. It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the Living God, and we will all face Him in the Judgment after we die. The Bible says, It is appointed unto men once to die and after that the judgment. Which one of us can say we are pure in His sight?  No one.

The first step of Repentance is admitting we have committed iniquity against our God. When we come to God for forgiveness, He shows us the breadth and height of our deep rebellion against Him. We are really and truly at odds with God. Our only hope is that He will forgive us. And we need lots of His forgiveness, because we have sinned against God all of our lives.

God is willing to forgive us, and He has provided Jesus Christ, the sacrificial Lamb of God, to give us this much needed forgiveness. The blood of Jesus Christ our Lord cleanses us from all sin. So it is of vital importance that we get with Him before we die and receive His forgiveness.

One important thing that God insists on, and perhaps it is the most important thing, is we must forgive others their trespasses against us. The Lord says if we don't forgive others, then He will not forgive us either. In what is referred to as the Lord's prayer it says: Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.

We must walk in the Spirit of God to do all this. The fundamental way to hear God's voice is through His Holy Bible. We must study, meditate, and read every word that comes from God. The Word of God is powerful and living. As we read God's written Word, our spirits cry out to God in repentance and praise.

To the rebellious unbeliever this is pure foolishness, but to  us who are saved, it is the power of God unto salvation.

Truly, we desperately need God's forgiveness.

“Ho! Everyone who thirsts,
Come to the waters;
And you who have no money,
Come, buy and eat.
Yes, come, buy wine and milk
Without money and without price.
Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
Incline your ear, and come to Me.
Hear, and your soul shall live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you—
The sure mercies of David.

 6 Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near.
Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
Let him return to the Lord,
And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon.
