Antinomian heresy teaches us to ignore all the scriptures that teach persecution and suffering. We can read the whole Bible and somehow skip and run by many scriptures that teach we must face persecution. It is part of our fallen nature, and we all have this hidden liability until the Lord makes us aware of it, if we have spiritual ears and eyes.
Let us look at one section of scripture that we normally skip as not pertaining to us.
Rev. 6:9-11
9 And
when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of
them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which
they held: 10 and
they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true,
dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the
earth? 11 And
white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto
them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their
fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
Verse 11 shows being slain for being a Christ follower has not finished yet. It is still in our future. Those who see the truth will not be taken by surprise. Those trusting falsehood run the real risk of abandoning Christ altogether, saying, I never signed up for this.
Oh yeah! The Lord warns us that only those who endure to the end will be saved.
